Life 3.0 – Augmented Reality and New Media

Life 3.0 is an innovation show by startups that change the way you live.  Life 3.0 is the next era after Web 2.0, when internet comes off the screen and enters our lives.  This month at Life 3.o you will see by far the most innovative startups in augmented reality. Augmented reality is a real-world environment whose elements are augmented such that you can walk down the street and see people’s names written over their heads; you can see who tweeted what in the nearby building; you can even see a message wall right over the Golden Gate Bridge.

THE EVENT

The battle between the startups was over the best augmentation of our reality, plus a business model. Judged and moderated by Anna Vital along with a panel of investors.

The winner of Life 3.0 became Real5D, a Hungarian startup that allows you to walk through, or even fly through, any office, house, or building on the planet. In the second place, Southern Stars wowed Life 3.0 attendees with SkySafari, an app that finds objects in the sky using the built-in compass and gyroscope. The third place was a tie between a glasses that let you see veins inside your body without cutting you open made by Evena Medical and a startup that lets you create 3D models of anything from simple photos, called 3Dbin. Real5D raised $1.2M after the event, as mentioned in Techcrunch and PandoDaily.
